The rudder on this vessel was full of water with advanced deterioration of the aluminium stock. Brin Wilson split the rudder shell, removed the corroded stock and cleaned out the saturated foam from the rudder shells. We solid blocked around the edge of the rudder to provide a better gluing surface and replaced the stock in stainless steel for the better resistance to corrosion. The rudder was glued together and glass-taped to prevent any further ingress of saltwater.
