DREAMCATCHER:

Concurrently with the extensive insurance repairs (click here for details) the HR48 - Dreamcatcher underwent a number of upgrades and repairs. The generator was replaced under warranty due to a faulty installation. For access, this required the removal and re-install of the main engine. Further warranty work included the replacement of the hot water cylinder, changes were made to investigate and stop various leaks due to faulty plumbing and fresh water hoses. Other work included the installation of UV lamps in the fresh water tanks and the fresh water filling pipe, installation of a fuel polishing system, replacing the generator and main engine exhaust mufflers as they were under-dimensioned, correcting the location of the rudder sensor of the autopilot, moving the radar pole to port to balance the boat better, replacing all the tracks on deck with upgraded hardware, installation of numerous new deck hardware as well as the fabrication of a stainless steel arch to hold a new plotter at the steering wheel. The steering wheel was replaced with a carbon one to eliminate the transfer of the momentum created by the too heavy wheel on the steering system during the operation of the autopilot.
